Formation Flying

Flying a course is challenging enough in Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto 5, but what if you have to do it at low altitude, with a group of trained (and very impatient) pilots.

GTA 5 Online / Rockstar Games want you to be a USAF Thunderbird; the epitome of precision team pilots. Flying low, flying fast and flying as one with your team mates.

Sometimes getting that gold medal can be a little elusive, especially when dealing with some of the high powered aircraft located around Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto 5 or GTA Online.

This video takes you through nailing that gold, including a few tips and tricks to help you along the way

Know any neat mods we could use to do a bit more exploration in Lost Santos, or North Yankton? Leave your suggestions in the comments.

hi and welcome back to the channel my name is Dan and I’m an old grumpy gamer this is
the sixth video in our san andreas flight school series this time we’re covering formation flying
let’s start with the briefing right and as the countdown proceeds you get organized plant the
foot so to speak get on to the afterburner straightaway and get the gear up I also like
to pitch high here instead of leveling up at the same rate as the rest of the crew that
puts you in a better position to get into that first market using the left and right rudders
will help you stay in line and as soon as this testing is finished and we’re prepping for the
next one use your left and right runners to just edge to the right a bit sneak in behind that lead
plane and that puts you in a better position and to gain points for this one now something
kindest covered after making this video is that if you use the afterburner while you are in a
test you will get significantly more points than if you’re just using it on its own so coming into
this one its right rudder only just on and off to stay in line using the afterburner as much as you
can then lining up for the next one after this one’s completed you can just see squeaking over
you don’t necessarily need to be bang on just near enough it’s good enough so ascending just a touch
and lining up getting that afterburner on again and keeping it on as much as possible to gain
more points for later on down the track staying in formation using left and right rudders again just
to adjust and fine-tune the position coming up on the end of this test we need to make a quick dive
after this marker and left and right runners to get in spot or in position again once that’s done
you can pretty well relax for this one just keep that afterburner on to gain as many points as you
can so the next test is a bit tricky especially if you’re on a controller you want to pull up
and you get ready to get inverted so onto the afterburner to catch up again you can get more
points by staying on the afterburner again with that one lining up again and we’re going for a
full invert this time rather from the roll so once you’re in place again left interact rudders just
to line everything up and you’ll find that they do edge off to the left a little bit I had a little
bit of trouble staying level in this one but managed to keep it in just to get there get the
gold medal but you can get more points by keeping the afterburner on and that makes it a little bit
easier to get through the whole thing so what was your best score for formation flight and do you
have any hot tips for other people who might be trying this out today leave a comment down below
