hi in this video we’re looking at a few methods to
save you valuable seconds when your character is under pressure in gta 5.
hi and welcome back my name’s Dan and i’m an old grumpy gamer grand theft auto 5 and
gta online are insanely large and complicated with literally hundreds of different mechanics and
quality of life features given the vast quantity of things throughout the game it’s now impossible
to find and remember them all so in this series we’re taking you through some of the most awesome
features in gta that you probably might not know about before we dive in if you’re new to the
channel we do how-to guides news and giveaways so consider subscribing and ring the bell to stay up
to date this is a top five tips type of list now while these aren’t in any particular order these
are things that i’ve learned through my 500 plus hours of game play in gta and gta online and from
watching other youtubers most notably speedrunners so let’s get into it for our first tip let’s take
a look at how quickly you can take out a car or i should say how quickly you can get into a car so
you can see there basic animation we have to jump in and off we go so we have the break-in animation
there which is a little bit slow so let’s try that again we’ll go to cars so this time we’ll have a
weapon and just very very quickly take out the front window and you can see there that allows
us to skip that initial break-in animation which can save you a good quarter of a second or half
a second which can make all of the difference when you’re trying to get away from the police okay for
this next one i’ve just activated invincibility just for the sake of getting this one done so take
care of a couple of these guys but basically what we’re going to be looking at here is
how quickly you can take out a chopper now the conventional wisdom of course is taking out a
chopper with its pilot is absolutely the best way to go but if you can’t get a line on the
pilot what you need to do is get a line on the tail rotor if you can take out the tail rotor
the chopper will go down a lot quicker there you go then if you try and shoot at the body so let’s
shoot at the body here and see how quickly that happens so you saw that go down really really fast
before doing this with that invincibility pretty interesting you see now it’s starting to stutter
just getting it to smoke now so we’ve wasted maybe two or three clips on this so far
and it looks like it’s starting to go down and there it goes
so you can clearly see the difference there between taking it out with the tail rotor
and taking it out well it still didn’t go down properly anyway taking them out with
the actual body so bang just there so that was so so much faster
so for the next tip we’ve got ourselves a a warrant it’s not too bad it’s only one star
but this will work on anything up to three or four stars but they’re not sending in the army
now you can go for a drive all the way across the map if you like or what you
can do is note that the police only have a regular line of sight the same as people do in
in the heists so you can evade them fairly easily by using back alleys and streets and hidden little
hidey holes around the place you can see here i’m just ducking around some back streets and once i
lose sight there we’ll end up dropping down we’ve got some security guards we’ll end up dropping off
their radar but the trick is using hidey holes and back alleys and little bits and pieces can make it
much much harder to find it instead of driving around wildly let’s just hop into here which
is i’ve just found it random we’ll take cover you can see just managed to drive straight past didn’t
even see me there so with any luck just hiding out here for just a few moments should do the
trick so again we’re not driving around the map wildly we’re not attracting additional attention
we’re just hiding there we go all done so that’s a bit quicker and a bit safer than
potentially driving into things blowing yourself up taking the easy
way or attracting even more attention which can prove very very handy if you’ve got a
high number of stars especially if you’ve got the police after you in choppers or the army
coming down so you can sneak under bridges or into tunnels and that also does the trick
very very nicely now for these last couple of tips we’re going to be looking at cornering and
takeoff so i’ve grabbed myself a dominator here these are notoriously tailing and i do have the
sound up so i’m going to apologize in advance if it gets a bit rowdy what we’re going to do is
just line up here i’m going to start by yanking the trigger on my controller now of course this
doesn’t apply if you’ve got a keyboard this is only for a controller but i’m going to yank that
on and i want you to have a good listen to the engine and see what happens to the back wheels
so that was a massive break in traction now the problem with the massive break in traction
is that it ends up costing you a great deal of lost momentum at the start of a run
you’ll see this in races as well so from the same spot if i gently squeeze the trigger
and then pull forward no loss of traction so that’s a much much quicker run
to the next intersection so starting from the same intersection this time i’ll go from just the full
start and we’ll put this up side by side with the slow start before so in yanking the accelerator
you can hear that peek out you can hear the wheel spin you can already see we’re just not getting to
where we want to be as quickly all right there we go so the next thing we’re going to look at in the
final tip for this little video is going to be on the turning the u-turns and the handbrake turns so
we’ll get a bit of momentum up here watch out for this idiot and do a very very quick u-turn here
so that’s on the handbrake quick turn
plant the foot again and you can hear it and gets all sorts of tightly it’s not really that flash
whoa and just watch out for that clown
right there we go so we started from about here now i’m going to go back up same kind
of speed and this time i’m going to do a controlled turn instead of a hand braking
so just up past where that truck was
slow it down turn and then gently squeeze on the accelerator again and you can see that is
much much quicker now these don’t make a big difference individually but once you combine
them with some of the other tips you’ve seen it can mean the difference between your character
getting busted and your character not getting busted so what are your thoughts do you have
