Grand Theft Auto is a truly massive game. Between GTA 5 and the constant updates from Rockstar for GTA Online; there’s no shortage of new content and interesting things to do.
Join me, then, in our continuing series, getting gold in every damn mission, in GTA 5 as we look at Grand Theft Auto Mission Blitz Play Getaway Vehicle Setup.
Before we dive in; if you’re new to the channel, we do How To Guides, News and Giveaways; So consider subscribing and ringing the bell, to stay up-to-date.
This is a super quick mission, but can be a bit fiddly as the game gives you very little guidance. There’s no real “gold” in this one; it’s just a case of getting the job done.
Know any neat mods we could use to do a bit more exploration in Lost Santos, or North Yankton? Leave your suggestions in the comments.
Michael maps out the strategy after the three pleasantries of communication. Trevor has to locate an elevated perch to act as the lookout, notifying the other two of the attempted robbery whenever the security vehicle is entering the site so that they can block the lane.
The job begins with the player navigating Trevor in a first-person perspective as he looks through a pair of binoculars to spot the armed truck into the oncoming traffic. Until he sees it, the camera zooms out and positions Michael in the garbage truck, who controls the car to block the entire path, in charge of the character.
A cutscene shows the armoured vehicle entering the roadblock as the garbage truck is in place and screeching to a stop with the passengers commenting critically about it. Now the camera jumps to the first-person viewpoint of Franklin behind the wheel of a tow truck coming down an alley. Franklin places a hard foot on the floor and rams at maximum speed towards the target car. The strong effect of the collision, which tips the armored vehicle on its side, is revealed in another cutscene.
Franklin, who steps over and puts explosives on the back door of the overturned vehicle, remains in charge of the player. Michael enters Franklin after detonation, and the guards exit with their hands upwards. The alarm goes off instantly, and in the distance, police sirens yell. The squad does not have time for all the cash to be obtained, so they take defensive positions and wait for the LSPD to open fire. The player is given the option to toggle between Trevor, who is holding an RPG, and the two other characters at this point in the task, who are both armed with machine guns near the vehicle.
After several waves of cops and their gunmen have been disposed of, a brief reprieve helps the remainder of the group to flee offscreen and while Franklin runs to the getaway car. In order to remove evidence, he then blows up the garbage truck and gets into the getaway car. After Franklin feels secure, he calls Michael and is told that Michael is going to lower the score on his way. Then the game switches to Michael as he drives into the drop-off stage. Michael takes off the bonds and continues talking to their contacts. In exchange for him, the contact then convinces Michael to get his “gang” (Trevor and Franklin) to gather five cars for him, encouraging Michael to collaborate with Solomon Richards and a huge cash reward for any crew member.
