…and don’t forget to hang about until the end, so you can catch our quick look at some of the Easter Eggs you may have missed.

Know any neat mods we could use to do a bit more exploration in Lost Santos, or North Yankton? Leave your suggestions in the comments.

Note, this is a GTA 5 Guide for Beginners 2020 and part of our wider series How to get gold in every mission in GTA 5 – where we do complete GTA Walkthroughs for every mission 🙂

After locking several hostages in a room, Trevor wires an explosive to the vault doors, and Michael detonates them via his phone.

As the crew make their escape, Michael is held at gunpoint by a security guard, who also removes the mask from his head. Michael advises the guard to forget what he saw and leave, but Trevor shoots him in the head. The trio blow open another door and leave the building, but are already swarmed by the local law enforcement.

The crew reach their getaway vehicle and are driven away, but they are pursued by more police vehicles, and their hired getawday driver is shot in the head. Michael pushes his body out of the door and grabs the wheel, crashing one of their pursuer’s car into a roadside tree.

The trio survive, and Trevor suggests an alternative route to the getaway chopper, but Michael insists that they stick to the original plan.

Trevor is forced to take out the oncoming police officers alone, refusing to abandon his crew, but Michael persuades Trevor to go on without him.

At a local cemetery, a funeral for Michael Townley is held.

Dave Norton, the agent who “Shot” him, supervises the proceedings, whilst Michael himself observes from a distance and flicks away his cigarette.

In this video we’re walking through the opening mission in grand theft auto 5
prologue i’ll take you through the heist the
shooting using cover and escaping from the cops
Hi my name’s Dan and i’m an Old Grumpy Gamer
grand theft auto is a truly massive game between gta 5 and the constant updates
from rockstar for gta online there’s no shortage of new content and interesting
things to do join me then in our new series getting
gold in every damn mission in gta 5 as we look at the grand theft
auto prologue and don’t forget to hang about until the
end so you can catch our quick look at some of the easter eggs you may have
missed before we dive in if you’re new to the channel we do
how-to guides news and giveaways so consider subscribing and ringing the
bell to stay up to date the prologue is a great little idea by
rockstar not only does it act as a tutorial for the basic mechanics of the
game but it gives you more or less a
risk-free way to try out different controls and tactics
for this exercise i’m going to assume you’re new to the game
we start in the lobby of the bank in north yangton nine years before the main
story and are thrown straight into the action
as soon as trevor kicks the door in we have control over michael
move into the secure area
and point your weapon at the security guards and the clerks to get them to
move pointing at their head may or may not
get them to move faster don’t pull the trigger though or the
scene will be reset next look to the top left of your screen
for some new prompts use these to bring up your phone enter
the contact list and detonate the charges
then head down to the corridor to the left typically i’m a slow and steady
kind of guy but you can safely run through this part
of the level you won’t encounter anyone your target is the pile of cash on the
trolley in the back of the vault but don’t forget to wander around and pick
up some of the loose cash on the floor as you head out of the vault michael
will be ambushed by a security guard unfortunately
there’s no way to avoid this take a look at the top left of your screen for the
button prompt switch to trevor
and shoot the guard clean between the eyes again no way to avoid this
keep an eye on that top left again for the next set of button prompts
so run up take cover somewhere far from the set of
doors then break cover using the same button
you used to get into it head through the doors and over to the
wall on the left
once brad and michael are clear of the doors grab some cover
on the first post just to the left look at the top left again for instructions
on aiming then aim and shoot the cops and push in
upper body shots and head shots are the way to go but if someone’s behind cover
you can shoot a foot or a hand or anything that’s exposed
and that will drop them and expose them a bit more so you can get in a proper
shot it’s worth noting that if they go down
without that little x showing up they will get back up again but you can shoot
them when they’re down to finish them off
all right push forward as soon as it’s practical and swap to michael
and finish off the remainder of this wave as soon as you can
move out and take cover behind the car don’t worry about collecting money or
weapons from the bodies keep an eye on that top left corner
again for instructions on sprinting grab some cover behind the suv then
start plugging the next wave again push forward as soon as practical
onto the final wave there’s not much need for cover here as trevor has most
of it in hand and finally head over to the car and
that takes us to the first cutscene we’ll just jump right to where we take
control next after michael takes out the cop car
look top left again for car controls this section
is really just to get a feel for driving you’re going to want to stay on the road
veering off in any direction we’ll reset this part of the mission
i know i tried a lot as you come to the roadblock slow down
and hang a right you cannot beat the train so don’t worry about trying
once everyone’s bailed out they’ll start moving don’t skip this scene
it’s pivotal to later events and after the second shot you take
control of trevor duck behind the dumpster and start
lighting everyone up watch your left flank too there are a
few cheeky boys who try to get the the drop on you again
down doesn’t necessarily mean dead so i like to drill a few extra rounds in when
i can for good measure and once you’ve taken
out a few more locals you’ll get pulled into a cutscene
and that’s the end of everything you can do but don’t
skip the cutscene again important exposition
