GTA 5: Risk Assessment Mission Walkthrough
In this Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) Strangers and Freaks mission, we join our favorite parachuting control freak, Dom Beasley, to get the gold. Our mission is to free fall for at least seven seconds, stay airborne on the mountain bike for at least two seconds cumulatively across the whole race, and win the race against Dom.
The mission is a bit time-consuming and involved, especially if you watch the whole cutscene. But it is worth the effort to get gold to complete the GTA 5 mission. Before we dive into the walkthrough, if you’re new to the channel, we do how-to guides, news, and giveaways. Consider subscribing and ringing the bell to stay up to date.
The Beginning
The mission starts with Franklin taking control, and you should take control of him by running after the dog. You can run, and the dog will wait for you, so you don’t need to tire yourself down to keep up. As you take a turn, you’ll see Dom hanging from the tree, and the dog disappears after that scene.
Dom will make himself well known, and we’ll cut him down in a few seconds. There’s no time limit on this one, so we recommend watching the entire cutscene, as it’s entertaining and a nice little aside from what you would normally see Franklin getting up to.
The Helicopter Ride
After you have cut down Dom and talked to him, head towards a helicopter spot. When you reach the chopper, wait for it to touch down, and then jump in. There is some interesting dialogue exchange between the pilot and dom and our friend Franklin, but it’s kind of boring.
The control for jump is on the top left. When you’re ready, jump and free fall for at least seven seconds, but you can stay up there for around 20 to 25 seconds without any problems. Once you have cleared the seven seconds mark, start steering Franklin towards the top of Mount Chiliad, where you will see your target coming into view.
Use the control on the top left to line yourself up. This takes a little bit of practice, but try to keep Franklin’s head on target in the middle-ish, and that’ll get you to dead center. Once the parachute drops, run towards the blue dots on your mini-map, where you can grab a couple of mountain bikes for the next part of the mission.
Mountain Bike Race
The Great thing about this part is that while we do need to win the race, Dom will wait for us while we’re cycling most of the way down, except for the last checkpoint or two. So just wait for Dom to catch up, and then we’re off.
To start cycling, tap the sprint button a couple of times. When you come across ramps or jumps, use the bunny hop control on the screen. You need to get a cumulative two seconds while you’re in the air, so take advantage of any chance to ramp off something. Dom has waited for us, and he will wait for us all the way to the bottom.
As we come to the ski jump, we have to start competing with Dom properly. Start slamming the sprint button, try and get a bit of air, watch out for the rock, and keep sprinting. We will pip him on the last corner, and then we need to keep up with him without completely wearing out Franklin.
Keep an eye on your sprint bar, and as we come around corners, be sure to come off the sprint button and tap it again as we come onto straights to keep up. Once we get over the ski jump, we need to properly start competing with Dom, so start slamming that sprint button and try to get a bit of air if you can. Don’t worry about air on the last hill, just go flat out, and remember to cut corners to get ahead of Dom.
Results and Conclusion
Once we finish the race, you get a chance to have a bit of a chat with Tom. He will exchange dialogue, which is worth watching, and then we should get our result. We managed to get gold by storming it with the free fall and managing to pip it in with the airtime and win.
